Today in the BCP calendar, we commemorate Robert McDonald. We also especially remember in prayer the Diocese of the Arctic and all those who minister in Northern Canada.
Robert McDonald (1829-1913) was a missionary to the Western Arctic, who developed a dictionary and grammar for the Gwich’in language, also translating scripture, the Prayer Book, and many hymns into that language.
